Like Joseph Stalin or Gandhi . . .

I’m the cult of personality.

This is my score on a Five-Factor Personality assessment. Seems about right. This is the dominant measurement model for personality in academic psychology. It covers all the dimensions of personality. Get your’s here.

I’m a O93-C10-E74-A74-N27 Big Five!!

These are the five factors:

Openness to Experience/Intellect
High scorers tend to be original, creative, curious, complex; Low scorers tend to be conventional, down to earth, narrow interests, uncreative.

Conscientiousness
High scorers tend to be reliable, well-organized, self-disciplined, careful; Low scorers tend to be disorganized, undependable, negligent.

Extraversion
High scorers tend to be sociable, friendly, fun loving, talkative; Low scorers tend to be introverted, reserved, inhibited, quiet.

Agreeableness
High scorers tend to be good natured, sympathetic, forgiving, courteous; Low scorers tend to be critical, rude, harsh, callous.

Neuroticism
High scorers tend to be nervous, high-strung, insecure, worrying; Low scorers tend to be calm, relaxed, secure, hardy.

You may be more familiar with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), which is based on Jungian theory. I am right on the fence of ENTP/ENFP for that one. Here’s an MBTI test you can take.

  1. Paul Bibeau Says:

My personality is tough to gauge. I’m a riddle in an engima, wrapped in an asshole.

  2. “Wrapped in an asshole.”

I’m having trouble getting that out of my head.

  3. Darby,

Of course you need help, we all do. One thing that online test does that misses the point of the Five Factor Model is that it makes each dimension a duality on which value judgments can be made:

Would you rather be close-minded or open to new experiences?
Would you rather be disorganized or conscientious?
    Etc.

It is best to think of it as a continuum.

I’m guessing that you would come out as an ISTP on the MBTI.

How about you Pauley? ISTJ maybe. That’s what my pops is.

  4. Introverted 61% Extraverted 39%
    Intuitive 73% Sensing 27%
    Thinking 55% Feeling 45%
    Judging 50% Perceiving 50%

    C’mon Paul, we need numbers.

Yeah, that “wrapped in an asshole” thing has been haunting me. I keep thinking of a copy things:

    1. Bacon wrapped scallops.

    2. Louis C.K.’s joke about seeing a barrel of duck vaginas at an Asian market.

  5. Darby is INTJ/INTP. That makes more sense than what ISTJ. I was basing that on your other score more than what I think you are like.

Rebecca is an INFJ, the rarest of all personality types.

  6. Paul Bibeau Says:

    Greedy 92% Apathetic 8%
    Judgemental 13% Hypocritical 87%
Kind of guy who’d cut you soon as look at you 5% Superficially charming 95%
Hate Michael Stipe 15% Hate people who like Michael Stipe 85%
Throws recycling materials away 92% Buys extra-dolphin in tuna 8%
